  • Tried several competitors - first app that really crushes the game

I tried several different apps to track my competitive sport goals. That one is by far the first of all that really makes tracking easy. Wasn’t able to stick to tracking as all other apps have been overcomplicating in some way. MF really changed the way tracking goes. Five star, no regrets at all!!
  • Works really well for me so far (lost about 2kg in 3 weeks) For people outside of the US, listen:

Yes the food database outside of the Us is not the greatest (especially if you don’t have a barcode at hand). I live in Germany and I can’t find most of the stuff by searching for it by hand. But I can find a lot of things if they have a barcode. For the stuff that isn’t in the database at all, you can easily create and save your own products with just a few taps. Yes it‘s a struggle at first but once most of your frequently used items are in there it‘s not a big deal anymore. I do wish however, that they’d improve the search for people outside of the US. I can find many articles with no issues by scanning their barcodes. However, I can’t find the same product by searching for it manually. If it‘s evidently in the database I should be able to find it, no?

Have been using the app daily for quite some time now and found it super important in bringing objectivity to my nutrition. Great app and great team behind it

Im a Software Developer and seeing how well polished the app is and how good the design is done here makes me happy. Unfortunately I canceled the trial because (at least in Germany) the food database is not fun to use. There are quite a few things I eat every day that are not directly available in the database. I found myself repeatedly looking up alternatives from US products but they usually dont have the exact same macros and especially micro nutrients. So I will stick with another app for now.
  • Not usable in germany

The app is great and well made, very fast and intuitive. However for me ist not usable since almost no food is in the database, so you have to enter everything by hand, this is very inconvenient.
  • Very good with one small flaw

I had a good experience so far. One thing that bugs me a little is how the Custom Food Calculations work. With custom servings I have to calculate how many Calories something has per 100grams. A „per 100g“ Textbox besides the „Total Weight“ Textbox would be great. Than I would have the total weight of the Product, the Calories and Macros per 100 Gramms and could easily add a custom Serving (say 20g) without needing to calculate the Calories and Macros for one Slice! But I guess in Germany Calories on products are differently calculated than on products in the US.
  • Uniquely amazing tracker

If you have the money go for it. It’s the best nutrition tracker that I’ve come across. Pros: - don’t have to track activity ever again, since the algorithm can calculate your expenditure trough weight change - fancy slider for goals, instead of input a number with no explanation - real weight estimate that normalizes the scale fluctuations - fluids can be measured in weight - custom foods support bar codes - ai describe the foods, for quick and easy tracking of normally impossible to track foods - support for multiple metrics cons: - might not have all foods (only one item missing for me atm) (there is a free trial so before you pay anything you should be able to see if this is a problem for you) - scanner not as fast as expected (but it’s not slow either, so don’t worry)
  • Basic German Food Missinh

The App seems to be great. I‘m still in the 2 weeks testing phase but still pondering if I should switch from my current app. Basic Foods are missing in German. Like for example fresh strawberries. I have to search for them in english to add them to my daily journal. The same with chicken breast. Also german food is written wrong. It‘s called Hähnchen with an ä-Umlaut. Not Hahnchen. This makes the experience for german users really bad. You just have to search too long for the food you want to track. My current app may jot have AI, but at least the food-tracking is done like in seconds. And I have all my recipes and custom foods stored there. This makes switching really painful. I would probably do it if the experience for german users was better.
  • Not so sure about the algorithm

The app calculates solely based on body weight and calorie intake. It doesn't include calorie expenditure based on the readings that apple Health for example provides, even though it has an integration for it. I can't track workouts with this app or adjust calorie intake for workout days. It estimates roughly over 2 questions at the beginning of the setup and you can assign specific "high calorie days". But missing a workout day or doing it on a "low calorie day" would mean messing up the data the app collects. When you don't have a strict workout plan that fits the default settings of this app, it's very likely that the algorithm will give you vague science at best. Not to mention that body weight itself is a very fluctuating measurement where drinking a bottle of water less the day before weighing yourself can make a big difference. I know this app is currently in development and I hope that calorie expenditure trackers will be integrated into the app in the future.
